Slim Jim joined the Walking Home Together family a few months ago. He was found trying to find shade in this Georgia hot summer.  He was covered in sores, bone thin and heartworm positive. He had a determination to live. He is now heartworm free and gained the weight needed to be a healthy boy. Slim Jim is learning basic commands and crates well. He craves human affirmation and wants to please. We have offered him different dog toys, but Slim Jim prefers an old red bucket.  He makes no effort to get out of the fence and lays by the couch while we watch television in the evening. He does not soil his kennel area when left out on his own. He just wants to be loved.

Athena and Artemis will be up for adoption soon. Athena got spayed today. These sweet girls are timid at first, but warm up quickly. They love to be held. No matter how many toys we offer, they prefer ro play with a two liter bottle. We are calling them lab mixes.
